Brazil uses the real (plural: reais, symbol: R$). One real = 100 centavos.

Use reais for the whole amount; centavos for the decimal part.

camisetas is feminine plural; sapatos is masculine plural.

Qual for singular; quais for plural.

Part 11 — Cultural note: shopping in São Paulo
Politeness first Always greet shop staff: Bom dia / Boa tarde. Use por favor, obrigado/a, com licença.
Payment Cartão (debit/credit) and Pix dominate. Cash exists but is less common in malls.
Shopping centers SP has huge malls: Iguatemi, Morumbi, Eldorado, Frei Caneca. Shopping also means mall in Brazilian Portuguese.
Sizes Brazilian sizes may differ from US/EU — always try on (experimentar).
Mercado vs supermercado Mercado = local market; supermercado = supermarket (Pão de Açúcar, Extra, Carrefour).
Feira Street markets on weekends — great for fruit and vegetables, often cheaper.
